Privacy Policy

The short version

• We collect only what the app needs to work: your sign-in identity, your location, your reports, and basic usage events.
• No ads, no third-party trackers, and we never sell your data.
• You can permanently delete your account and all of its data inside the app, any time.

Information We Collect

• Account data: when you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL, plus an account identifier we create. Your public display name is a nickname generated by us — it is never your real name unless you keep it that way elsewhere.
• Precise location: used while you use the app to show nearby reports, place pins, and warn you before you step in something. If you grant background location, we also use it to send proximity alerts while the app is closed. Your city and country may be derived from your location for reports and leaderboards.
• Your reports and gameplay: the pins you place (location, type, time), verifications, coins, achievements, and streaks.
• Purchase records: if you buy coin packs, Apple processes the payment. We receive only the transaction identifier and product so we can credit your coins — never your payment details.
• Usage events: basic first-party analytics (for example "report created" or "achievement unlocked") so we can understand which features matter. No third-party analytics SDKs are used.
• Device identifier: one identifier per device used solely to enforce a single active session per account.
• Health data (optional): if you allow it, we read your step count and walking/running distance from Apple Health to show a personal activity stat in your profile. This is read-only — we never write to Health, the data stays on your device, and it is never sent to our servers.
• Anti-abuse data: when you verify a report we record where the verification happened, how far you were from the pin, and your IP address, to detect collusion and fraud. We use this only to keep the game fair.

How We Use Your Information

We use this data to run the service: showing the community map, sending hazard alerts, operating the points economy and leaderboards, crediting purchases, preventing cheating and abuse, and improving the app. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

Where Your Data Lives

Your data is stored in a managed cloud database on servers located in the European Union and processed by our application server. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Sign-in is handled by Apple or Google; payments are handled by Apple. These providers process data only to provide their services to us.

Retention and Deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Usage events are automatically deleted after 90 days.

You can permanently delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete Account. This immediately removes your account, reports, activity, coins, items, and achievements from our systems and cannot be undone.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to its processing. Deletion is built into the app; for anything else, contact us and we will respond as required by applicable law (including the GDPR).

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
